RV Motorhome Of My Dreams!

We are just so excited, our RV motorhome is ready for delivery tomorrow. Believe me, it has taken some time to get to this stage, and at one point I didn't think it was ever going to happen. But after those initial little problems the deal was done and we have been waiting now for the last 3 months for it to be customized and made ready. Thankfully for us, our good friends Bobby and Malou have had a RV motorhome for the past ten years so they were able to give us lots of help and advice in the initial stages. Even though we had been with them in their RV motorhome a couple of times, when it comes to buying one yourself and spending all that money it gets a little nerve-racking.

We had heard a lot of stories of people who bought their RV motorhome and it gave them nothing but trouble. Sometimes the engine was the problem, but more often it was things like water storage, refrigerator problems or the heating and cooling would break-down. Lots of annoying things that shouldn't happen on new vehicles. Getting them fixed was also a big problem with a few of the manufacturers even though they were supposed to be covered under warranty. We feel sure ours will be OK, but the big test will be in a week's time when we are going over the border into Canada for five days. Not too far away, but far enough to give it a good run for its inaugural trip.

Before we decided on which type of RV motorhome we wanted we did what we were advised to do, and that is make a check list of what things we felt were important to us. We also were lucky to be able to visit the annual RV show so could see all the RV Motorhomes under the one roof. This was excellent and I would recommend it to anyone who is thinking of buying a RV motorhome. We do intend to use ours all year round, so it was important for us to get all the proper insulation and heating that is required for traveling during the winter. It really is going to be our mini home away from home and because we will be traveling for long periods we decided to invest more in features that provided a little more luxury.

Because I like to cook all our meals the kitchen was designed especially to cater for my needs. We changed the motorhome's floorplan slightly to give me plenty of room for appliances, a really nice counter space area which can even be extended, plus plenty of food storage areas. The refrigerator even has a freezer compartment. Even though I can live without them, my husband wanted a TV, so we were able to include a really nice entertainment center with a flat panel TV, DVD player and stereo. He is as excited about the RV motorhome as me, and can't wait to leave on our first big adventure. Fortunately we also have satellite navigation, just in case we need it. My reputation for reading road maps is not very good, and his for taking short cuts and getting lost is even worse.
