RV Camper Selection Tips

You are looking for the ultimate camping experience and right now you are wondering if the RV camper is going to give it to you. It would all be such a simple affair if there were just a few types to choose from, but the RV camper choices are enormous. If you are new to the world of RV's and campers, then I don't envy the job ahead of you.

Many people start out feeling extremely pleased with their RV camper when they first buy it. It certainly looks handsome enough, and the neighbors all think it is pretty cool, but as time goes by they become increasingly disenchanted with it. Why, you may ask? After all, it is just a vehicle to go camping in so what is the problem. It is simply because most people do not spend enough time doing their homework. They are in such a hurry to get this good lookin' thing home that they fail to ascertain its suitability for them. Seems pretty obvious, but you would be surprised at the number of people who just can't see the obvious.

Before you commit to buying a RV camper you need to test it thoroughly or be pretty darn sure that it is going to meet your performance requirements. It is too late once it is sitting in your driveway and you realise that you hated the way it handled all the way home from the dealer. You have to ask yourself in this case, what other surprises are in store for you when you get out on the highway, or over rough terrain or in extreme driving conditions such as high winds or snow. These are all things that are going to impact greatly on your driving experience, and you will be spending many hours behind the wheel of your RV camper and they should be enjoyable hours.

The idea of a RV camper is that it should be nimble, responsive and a real pleasure to drive. If you want a big monster you would have opted for a motorhome, but your idea of camping is roaming the back roads and going places that the larger motorhomes would never dream of or not be allowed. Handling with these vehicles is of paramount importance, or it should be. Where people come unstuck is that there are so many different styles of RV campers that it is easy to be seduced by clever advertising and even smarter salesmen. Even the interiors can look fantastic but within the limited confines, if the design doesn't work then you are going to have a very unhappy person in the kitchen. We all know that this is not a good thing!

Remember that an RV camper which suits one person may be totally inadequate for the other. Ideally you need to test drive your RV camper for more than a few minutes around the block, before you buy it. Even better if you can take one for a day or a weekend to get the feel of how it handles on the open roads. As far as the interior goes, well that is quite another matter. There is usually an impressive list of standard features as well as all the extras that will allow you to customize this living area for you.
