Why Class B RV Has Our Vote?

Finally we have made the decision to buy the Class B RV which has been advertised for the past couple of weeks in our local newspaper. Even though we originally thought we would wait until early next year, this one came along and it really is a great buy. The registration is being organised today so hopefully we will be able to take possession of our new RV by the end of the week. It is a very exciting time for us. To have a dream come true and for it to also come early makes us feel like we have won the lottery. Our Class B is brand new too, which is something we never thought we would be able to do.

We have wanted a Class B RV ever since we rented one about 3 years ago. Not knowing how we would go living in such cramped quarters we thought we would just try it out for a week, and as it was late Spring we headed up to the Great Lakes area. We had the best time, even though there were a few little problems with the van they weren't major and didn't spoil our trip. We also got a taste of what life was like in the trailer parks. In our section there was a group of us that just happened coincidentally to all have Class B RV's. The new friendships we made on that first trip we still have today. We make it a yearly pilgrimage to meet up at the Lakes at the same time each year. A couple of them traded up to Class A's and some have still got their same old Class B RV, so attached are they to their old girls.

Because there is just the two of us, the Class B RV suits us fine, although we are getting one of the big ones, think it is round 23 feet long. Both of us have no trouble standing up in it, there is plenty of head room and because we like the Lakes area so much we needed a winterized version. This is one of the reasons we decided to go ahead with this particular Class B RV, as all the necessary things like insulation, BTU furnace and heated tanks were already instaled. The only extra thing that we needed to have done was to get the factory to attach a bicycle rack. Once we set up camp we prefer to ride our bicycles wherever we can.

Originally we thought we would be designing our own floor plan because after a few years of RV'ing we have a very good idea on what works best for us. We have rented some awful Class B RV's which felt really cramped and claustrophobic. Then the next time we rent another make of RV and can't believe how creative the designer was in utilizing the space in the unit.

The Class B RV we have bought is fully self-contained. In other words we have a really well organized kitchen area with excellent cooking facilities, sink and refrigerator as well as a shower and toilet. It really is amazing how they get all these items to fit so beautifully in the Class B RV, and still leave room to walk around. Our dining area is at the front of the van, and our bedroom is at the back. When we make camp we have an awning which provides a whole new living area outside, and it can be enclosed if the weather is bad. When we are away we always call it our patio.
